Lab 6 - Billiards, dynamical systems and fractals (M. Morandotti)

In this lab, a path will be presented that touches on different branches of mathematical analysis. The dynamics of a billiard ball bouncing on the edge will be studied, starting from physical modeling, passing through mathematical formalism and arriving at the analysis of a dynamical system. Some concrete situations will be presented that will serve to introduce the concept of a fractal and to analyze some of its properties.

Activities will be held according to the following schedule:

Monday, November 20, h 16-18.30 room 6C (English)

Wednesday, November 22, h 16-18.30 room 6D (Italian)

Friday, November 24, h 16-18.30 room 6C (Italian)
